Virtual Package Editor
AdminStudio 10.0 provides a Virtual Package Editor which you can use to view and edit Microsoft App-V
packages.
You can use the Virtual Package Editor to fix any conflict or validation error that you discover when
performing validation and conflict analysis. It provides the following benefits:
Familiar, user-friendly interface—The Virtual Package Editor incorporates the best-of-class user
interface elements from both Microsoft Sequencer and InstallShield, using the familiar InstallShield
tree structure—meaning that the learning curve for new users will be minimal.
View and edit package data—Using the Virtual Package Editor, you can view and edit the files,
folders, registry keys, environment variables, shortcuts, file associations, global properties, and
build settings of App-V packages.
Edit scripts—The Virtual Package Editor provides script-editing capability in a dockable pane.
The Virtual Package Editor includes the following views:
Advanced Reports and Dashboards
AdminStudio 10.0 provides an enhanced reporting infrastructure. AdminStudio has incorporated
Microsoft SQL Reporting Services to provide a summary dashboard of Application Catalog readiness
data and to enable you to create customizable reports.

View Description
General Information Use to view and change settings that are global across the virtual
package, and to view the package’s revision history.
Dependencies Use to specify dependency packages currently used for App-A's Dynamic
Suiting.
Files and Folders Use to view, change, or extract the files, folders, and VFS paths of the
items in the virtual file system.
Registry Use to view or change the information in your virtual registry.
Shortcuts Use to view and change the entry points to your virtual package
(shortcuts, file extensions, and verbs) as well as the behavior of your
package when launched through a shortcut (using environment variables
and scripts).
Virtual Services Use to view and change the virtualized Windows Services available within
your virtual package.
